Located in a territory between the hills and the flat land, Collecchio is a significant stop along the Pilgrims' route. Its history is dated back to the medieval age, passing through the Romanesque which left as a witness the Parish church of San Prospero, as well as the monumental portal above the entrance of the park of Villa Paveri Fontana, dated end of the 17th century. The municipal area is surrounded by two regional historical parks: the Taro river park and the Regional park Boschi di Carrega. IN the village of Collecchio there is also a green oasis, the Nevicati park, enriched with Villa Soragna, a bulding dated back to the beginning of the 19th century, that is a cultural centre housing the municipal Library. In Ozzano Taro, a small village near Collecchio, lies the Ettore Guatelli museum, dedicated to the rural life and handcrafts.
