Starred cooking shows, temporary restaurant and cultural meetings: in the year that the Mibact– Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism has dedicated to Italian food, Parma responds, tells and opens to the rest of the world.

The City of Gastronomy Festival, in fact, is a great showcase not only on the products and the history of the Food Valley but also on the many cities “colleagues” in taste and know-how.
The festival intends to recount the global food world at 360 °, focusing, as regards the Belpaese, on traditional productions and made in Italy, on the transmission of knowledge and flavor that, in Parma and Emilia Romagna, have placed the bases of a solid food culture.

Star chefs in the kitchen, great debates and international researches, interviews, workshops and meeting will allow to discover the cultural heritage of a land famous for its gastronomic productions.

The places of the festival: a palace, porticoes, two squares and a road to connect them, the parmigiana declination of the via Emilia. The festival lives here.

The kitchen, under the Portici del Grano, in Piazza Garibaldi, hosts international and starred cooking shows that tell the Unesco creativity.

Then the Governor’s palace, which in its auditorium, hosts four round tables, with experts, journalists and chefs who will discuss the themes of the festival and the various declinations of creativity.

In the square, spaces also for children, with the laboratories of the Food Museums, to animate the arcades of via Mazzini up to Piazza Ghiaia, which finds again its ancient vocation as “agora”, a place of commerce and meeting. Here five temporary restaurants will be set up to meet the talents of contemporary cuisine, tasting their cult dishes.
