DETAILS
The
Botanical
Garden,
created
in
1768
with
scientific
aims
by
G.B.
Guatteri,
was
later
directed
by
famous
scientists
who
transformed
it
into
an
experimental,
ecological
landscape
garden.
Based
on
a
design
by
Petitot,
but
finished
only
in
the
year
1793,
it
now
boasts
centuries
old
trees
and
exotic
plants
in
greenhouses.
The
garden
also
plays
host
to
wonderful
examples
of
botanical
species,
for
instance
the
Ginkgo
biloba
planted
in
1795
and
a
remarkable
collection
of
Erbario
togheter
with
an
important
scientific
library.
HOURS Botanical garden is open from Monday to Thursday from 9.00am to 1.00pm and from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. To book for groups and schools please send an email.
Closed: Saturday and Sunday.
